About Geraldton Yacht Club

Established in 1914, the Geraldton Yacht Club has been a cornerstone of the Mid West’s coastal community for over a century. Proudly overlooking the Indian Ocean from the Geraldton foreshore, the Club is home to a passionate community of sailors, families, and ocean lovers who share a deep respect for the sea and the spirit of sailing.

Our mission is to promote the sport of sailing, fishing, foster marine safety, and provide a welcoming environment for both competitive sailors and social members. With a strong tradition of club racing, regattas, and youth development programs, we are committed to growing the sport and supporting the next generation of sailors.

From thrilling weekend races to relaxed sunset drinks at our licensed clubhouse, the Geraldton Yacht Club offers something for everyone - on and off the water. Our facilities include boat storage, launching ramps, a function room, and panoramic views of the Batavia Coast.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, a novice or a seasoned sailor, you’ll find a warm welcome and a strong sense of community at the Geraldton Yacht Club.

Come for the sailing - stay for the community.

Geraldton and District Offshore Fishing Club (GDFC)
In 2021 GDFC joined GYC. All GDFC Memberships include a GYC Social Membership.

The Geraldton and District Offshore Fishing Club was first established in 1985. The Club started with approximately 25 members. In 1991 through the efforts of the Club members and the generosity of the Geraldton City Council, the present Club Premises were constructed on the city’s foreshore.

We are quite fortunate to have a selection of top quality bottom fish, sport fish along with the “Monsters of the Deep”, Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna and Sailfish.

We host the Halco Tackle Abrolhos Islands Game Tournament, this 100% tag and release tournament staged at the Abrolhos islands each March is a must for any keen sports fisher.

Sailability
The Geraldton Yacht and Atlas have formed a partnership to increase the inclusion of people in the Midwest Region with disabilities into sail-ability activities.

Atlas and the GYC will facilitate participation in sailing and boat usage at social, recreational and entry levels.

We would like to offer your business a unique opportunity to be a founding sponsor in providing people with disabilities access and inclusion into the sail-ability program.
