About Geraldton Yacht Club
Established in 1914, the Geraldton Yacht Club has been a proud part of the Mid West coastal community for more than a century.
Overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean from the Geraldton foreshore, the Club is home to a welcoming community of sailors, families, fishers, social members, and ocean lovers who share a love of the water and the relaxed coastal lifestyle.
Our Club is passionate about promoting sailing, fishing, marine safety, and community connection. With a strong tradition of club racing, regattas, youth development, and social events, Geraldton Yacht Club continues to support both experienced sailors and those just beginning their journey on the water.
From exciting weekend racing and boating activities to relaxed sunset drinks at our licensed clubhouse, GYC offers something for everyone - both on and off the water. Our facilities include boat storage, launching ramps, a function room, bar and dining areas, and panoramic views across the stunning Batavia Coast.
Whether you are a local, a visitor, a beginner, or a seasoned sailor, you will find a warm welcome and a strong sense of community at Geraldton Yacht Club.
Come for the sailing - stay for the community.

Geraldton and District Offshore Fishing Club (GDFC)
In 2021, the Geraldton and District Offshore Fishing Club joined Geraldton Yacht Club. All GDFC memberships include a GYC Social Membership.
The Geraldton and District Offshore Fishing Club was first established in 1985 with approximately 25 members. In 1991, through the efforts of Club members and the generosity of the Geraldton City Council, the current Club premises were built on the Geraldton foreshore.
GDFC members are fortunate to enjoy access to some of the best fishing waters in the region, with a wide variety of quality bottom fish, sport fish, and the “Monsters of the Deep” - including Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, and Sailfish.
The Club also hosts the Halco Tackle Abrolhos Islands Game Tournament, a 100% tag and release tournament held at the Abrolhos Islands each March. This event is a must for any keen sport fisher.

Sailability
Geraldton Yacht Club and ATLAS have formed a partnership to help increase access and inclusion for people living with disability across the Mid West region.
Together, ATLAS and GYC support opportunities for people to participate in sailing and boating at social, recreational, and entry levels, creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy time on the water.
We are proud to support this important program and invite local businesses and community members to be part of something truly meaningful. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those who would like to help provide greater access, inclusion, and participation through the Sailability program.
